A project released through an RSS feed into podcast applications. NJ WebFest requires 3 or more episodes to submit.
The audio fiction equivalent of a film / short film. A story that is told start to finish in a single file. Anthology podcasts can choose to submit individual stories into this category rather than their whole podcast into the Fiction Podcast category.
Any character who could be reasonably considered the “protagonist” of the piece.
Any character who would not be the main protagonist but maintains a significant role to the plot.
Two or more characters who seem to be completely in the same world and work together seamlessly to create a scene. Often (but not necessarily) identified through believable and engaging banter.
When considering the piece in totality, the Sound Design is worthy of award nomination. This award is where to consider a fantastic Mix of a podcast’s dialogue.
A piece that features a setting where the Sound Design immerses the listener into the background world completely. For instance a stunning forestscape while walking through the woods, or the hustle and bustle of a crowded street.
An immersive experience to accentuate a fight of any kind. A Sound Design where the action is crystal clear and enhanced for the listener.
Best Director should be judged by the seamless integration of all production elements in an audio fiction. Additionally the cohesion of the cast and how they work together in their dialogue.
